The Importance of Sustainability for Owners' Associations

21-11-2024

Making homeowners associations (VvE's) more sustainable is crucial for the future-proofing of homes and achieving climate goals. By investing in energy-saving measures, such as insulation and connection to district heating, homeowners' associations can reduce their ecological footprint, reduce housing costs and increase the value of real estate. This is especially important in urban areas such as Rotterdam, where many homeowners' associations have to deal with outdated buildings and rising energy costs. They can contact various organizations for support.

Step-by-step plan for sustainability process for homeowners' associations
A homeowners' association can achieve significant savings on the MJOP by reducing energy consumption. This requires investments in sustainable measures that not only reduce energy costs, but also increase living comfort and contribute to a better environment by reducing CO2 emissions.

SBLC's sustainability advisors have developed an extensive step-by-step roadmap to guide homeowners' associations in the sustainability process. The process starts with a thorough analysis of the current situation of the homeowners' association, in which energy flows and maintenance needs are mapped out.

Sustainable measures are then proposed that are tailored to the specific wishes of the homeowners' association. The step-by-step roadmap also helps you draw up a realistic budget and identify financing options. This enables the VvE to make well-considered choices about the steps to be taken.
